A 360° Assessment of Association Effectiveness
Periodic tune-ups are a necessity for continuous improvement and exceptional performance. For associations, a sound "tune-up" depends on getting answers to basic questions such as: are we really focused on our members' needs and how well are we meeting them, where do we need to improve, and how do we go about making the changes critical to our association's future success?
Having a complete performance picture and acting on it has never been more important than it is today -- an era when members have fewer discretionary dollars and more choices, and when emerging trends challenge the sense of community and cohesiveness in associations.
SPR Center can help you get the answers to these questions and respond to these challenges through our "360° Assessment of Association Effectiveness."
How do we do this? We begin by looking at your association's performance through the eyes of all of its key stakeholders: your members and suppliers, employees and volunteers, executives and board members. In other words, we help you look at your association from every - i.e., 360° - direction.
Association 360° Assessment
The focus of our assessment is on the three primary dimensions of association effectiveness and their effect on key organizational outcomes.
- Leadership: How well leadership has defined and communicated the association's direction, and the values and culture necessary to support it.
- Internal: How well the association is functioning; how effectively its competitive and operational strategies are being implemented or deployed.
- External: How well the needs of members and other external stakeholders are understood and being served by the association and its staff.
How Do We Evaluate and Assess These Dimensions for Associations? It is a three step process:
- We begin with exploring strategic effectiveness with your leadership and your board.
- Then we assess the internal effectiveness of the association by examining your staff and how the association attracts, develops, aligns and empowers them to achieve the association's strategic goals.
- Finally we examine the association's external effectiveness by obtaining stakeholder feedback on how well it is doing in key performance areas.
All information is linked in a comprehensive analysis that identifies the key drivers of association success. The result is a clear set of priorities for actions to be taken that will improve association effectiveness in achieving strategic goals.
But we don't stop there. SPR Center's years of experience in facilitating organizational change enables us to help your association implement and complete those action recommendations and achieve real change. If knowledge is the key to successful action, then this program may be the answer for you.
